Akshaya Tritiya

Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akti or Akha Teej, marks an annual Jain and Hindu spring festival celebrated on the third tithi (lunar day) of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the Ιnduan lunar month of Vaisakha.
The term “Akshaya Tritiya” originates from Sanskrit, where “Akshaya” (अक्षय akṣaya) denotes eternal or never-decreasing, and “Tritiya” ( तृतीया tr̥tīyā) signifies the third lunar day of the month of Vaisakha. it signifies the “third day of unending prosperity.” If Akshaya Tritiya falls on a Monday is believed to be more auspicious.
Akshaya Tritiya is considered one of the most auspicious days for new ventures, marriages, charity, and in investments in precious metals such as gold or other property, as it is believed to usher prosperity and good fortune into the households. It is also a day of remembrance for the loved ones who have died. The day is regionally significant for women, who pray for the well-being of their husbands or the men they may get engaged to in the future. After prayers, they offer fresh fruits and sweets. Fasting and charity on this day are some more festive practices.
