Celebration of the 53rd Independence Day of Bangladesh in Athens

On the occasion of the celebration of the 53rd Independence Day & the National Day of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Greece organized a special reception on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Diwani Caravel Hotel in Athens.

The spectacular event was attended by representatives of the Greek political and military leadership, ambassadors of many countries, university professors, representatives of Bangladeshi companies operating in Greece as well as cultural and business organizations and many members of the Bangladeshi community in Greece.

The reception started with the speech of the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Greece Mr. Ashud Ahmed who spoke about the economic and political achievements of Bangladesh, the relations between Bangladesh and Greece and the role of the Bangladeshi immigrants in strengthening the friendly and economic relations between the two countries. The Greek government was represented by the President and the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Friendship Group for Bangladesh Mr. Giorgos Kotsos and Mr. Giorgos Stamatis who cut the pie of friendship between Bangladesh and Greeece.

The Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture and Development (ELINEPA) and the Greek Indian Business Association (GIBA) were represented by their President Dr Dimitrios Vassiliadis, and BoD members Mr. James Mimikos and Mr. Panagiotis Makridis.
