International Conference on “Yoga and Child”

The Social Cooperative Society for Collective and Social Benefits AMBA in collaboration with Satyanandashram of Greece organized the first International Scientific Conference on “Yoga and Child” on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens. 

The distinguished speakers from the field of education and science (teachers, psychologists, doctors, yoga experts, etc.) presented their experience and knowledge about the implementation of yoga in the field of education. Among the speakers were:

Micheline Flak, Professor of Pedagogical Sciences at the Higher Institute of Pedagogical Sciences, responsible for the introduction of yoga in the French educational system, Swami Shivamurti, Founder and Yoga Acharya of Satyanandashram Greece. Helene Plaziat, Educator, Katerina Ziridi, President of the Ziridi New Generation, and Veta Georgiadou, founder of the School of Nature in Thessaloniki.

The speakers made special reference to the benefits of yoga practices in the physical, mental and psycho-emotional development of children. Emphasis was placed on increasing attention and concentration, better emotional management, improving memory, recognizing emotions and managing them.
