INDIA and my Persian garden
Year: 2016 Genre: Travel Literature
A journey into my soul
“…I felt I was breathing an India of another time… an entire symphony of luminous diamonds, sapphires of the deepest blue, rubies the colour of pigeon’s blood, pink pearls and sea-green emeralds, most of which were set in gold… like in the tales of A Thousand and One Nights…”
The Jewel in the Crown of England in the 19th century, today India spreads its shine on the Globe. A feast of colours, landscapes and works of Art; a mosaic of ideas and people that bear the stamp of its ageless wisdom. Everything in superlatives in the Indian world, seen through the alteration of contrasts: another order, both subversive and charming to the gaze of the traveller.
The e-book INDIA and my Persian garden, illustrated with colour images is published in Greek, English, French and Italian.

Barbara Athanassiadis was born in Athens, Greece. She attended school at the American College, graduating in Business Administration. Subsequent to the publication of her first novel, she decided to leave her career of Public Relations Specialist in order to study French literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. She delved in nineteenth-century French art criticism while at the same time engaging even more actively in the study of Italian Renaissance Art, a topic she was later to elaborate upon thoroughly in her TV documentary “Rome, City of Eternal Femininity.”
Her books A Year in Tuscany (2007), Feeling Rome (2009), My Venice (2014), INDIA and my Persian garden (2016) and Cruising on the OCEAN MAJESTY (2016) are also published in Italian, French, German and Greek. Her next travel book GREECE, The Dance of the Seas and her novel A Journey to the Nile are due to be published in 2018.
She collaborated with “Icons Traveller’s” magazine, which hosted quite a number of articles of hers, inspired by her travels. As travelling is part of her lifestyle, she enjoys giving travel lectures in English. International activities: Friends of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria of Egypt.
