International Conference on “Greece and India: History, Society, Science and Entrepreneurship” – Report
The Greek Chair, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the International Hellenic University and the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens organized a multi-disciplinary International Conference from 8 to 12 April 2024 at the Convention Centre, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
The International Conference on “Greece and India: History, Society, Science and Entrepreneurship” was inaugurated on 8th April by the Honourable Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi and the Ambassador of Greece to India Mrs. Aliki Koutsomitopoulou,.

The General Secretary for Higher Education, Ministry of Education Mr. Odysseus Zoras, the General Secretary for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emeri, Prof. Ioannis Chrysoulakis, Prof. Bharat Gupt, President of the Indo-Hellenic Friendship League and Executive Trustee of Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts, Prof. Dhananjay Singh, Member Secretary, ICSSR, Dr C. Karagiannis, Vice-Rector of Research, Innovation and Lifelong Learning, University of Athens, Dr K. Diamantaras, Vice Rector and Professor of Information and Electronic Engineering, International Hellenic University, Thessaloniki, Dr E. Stylianidis, Professor of Spatial Planning, Faculty of Engineering and Member of Administration Council, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Dr N. Thomaidis. Professor of Chemistry and Vice President of Administration Council, University of Athens also addressed the participants and a large gathering of scholars from India and Greece In the opening ceremony.
The conference was attended by a large number of academicians, across the disciplines of History, Culture, Tourism, International Relations, Diplomacy, Geopolitics, Informatics, Technology, Innovation, Agriculture, Agritech, Environment, Business Management and Entrepreneurship and aimed to explore new areas of academic cooperation after the elevation of the bilateral ties between Greece and India to a strategic partnership which included academic and student exchanges. Also, the educational institutions of Greece and India were given the opportunity to plan further cooperation in research programs and academic exchanges in various fields.
