Language Marathon – Learn about the world’s most important languages
The Foreign Language Teaching Center of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the European Commission invite you to participate in the event “Language Marathon”
on Saturday 12 November 202, hours 9.30-17.00
at the “I. Drakopoulos” Amphitheater, Central Building of the University of Athens, 30 Panepistimou str.
The event will be welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, President of the Foreign Language Teaching Center, Professor Dimitrios Karadimas, the Linguistic Officer of the General Directorate of Translation, European Commission, Mr. Leonidas Kourmadas and the Head of the Secretariat of the Foreign Language Teaching Office, Mr. Georgios Floudas
At the event, you can “get a taste” of a foreign language you’ve always wanted to learn or participate in multilingual activities and learn interesting facts about 17 foreign languages and cultures. The presentations last just 20 minutes each, and to attend them you don’t need to know a foreign language. Simultaneously with the event, there will be a foreign language book exhibition
Professor Dimitris Vasiliadis’ speech on “Hindi as a dominant language and cultural bridge in South Asia” is scheduled at 4 pm.
