Morari Bapu praises Lord Rama and Socrates in Athens

Popular in India and abroad spiritual teacher Morari Bapu visited Athens from 23 to 31 July 2016, where he gave a series of devotional talks on Lord Rama (Rama Katha) and Socrates. The whole Athenaeum Intercontinental hotel was books for the event; as over a thousand devotees from various parts of the world came to hear him. The monumental speeches were also viewed daily by over 10 million people in India via a live TV broadcast from Athens.

The seventy-year-old devotee of Rama chose Athens as a unique destination in Europe, in his world tour, to show the great respect he feels towards the leading Athenian philosopher Socrates, whose teachings, as he said, deeply affected his perception of life. He thereby also wanted  to symbolically strengthen Greece and its economy that faces an economic and refugee crisis in recent years.

The events were attended by Mayor of Athens Mr. George Kaminis, Ambassador of India to Greece Ms. Murugesan Manimekalai, President of ELINEPA Dr Dimitrios Vassiliadis, General Secretary of ELINEPA Mr. Antonis Papadopoulos, journalists, members of the Indian community in Greece, and devotees.
