12th World Hindi conference in Fiji from 15 to 17 February 2023
The 12th World Hindi Conference is being organized by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with the Government of Fiji from 15 to 17 February 2023 in Fiji.
The main theme of the Conference is “Hindi: From Traditional Knowledge to Artificial Intelligence”.
The first World Hindi Conference was held in 1975 in Nagpur, India. Since then, 11 such conferences have been organized in different parts of the world.
According to the United Nations report of 2020, Fiji had a population of more than 896,000 and out of which over 30% is of Indian-origin. Hindi language is very popular in several countries including New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, Mauritius, Nepal and Pakistan among others.
