Celebration of the 4th International Day of Yoga in Greece
On the occasion of the celebration of the 4th International Day of Yoga, the Hellenic Yoga Association, the LIght of Yoga and the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Nea Smyrni are organizing an open yoga seminar on Sunday, June 17, 2018, in the Nea Smyrni Park.
The program includes free workshops / courses from all yoga systems, talks and entertainment with dance and music. The program starts at 12.00 and ends at 21.00.
The 30 lessons and 4 lectures by recognized teachers from Athens representing different Yoga systems will be held at the Nea Smyrni Park (12:00 – 19:30). There will be 30 exhibition stands with products and services related to Yoga, health and wellness.
Festive Program 20.00-22.00
The Lotus Valley International School from India with 22 students will present Flow Yoga and classical Indian dance Kathak.

The aim of this action is to get the general public to know the benefits and principles of Yoga.
Yoga is an ancient philosophical and practical method that developed in India and evolved into a global system for the progressive development of the individual’s consciousness, with the ultimate goal of harmonizing human existence at the spiritual, mental and physical levels.

Open Yoga Course on the green hill of Philopappou
The practice includes traditional teachings of yoga, meditation, Kirtan, live Indian Yogic music with 3D Tibetan singing bowl soundbath!
Participants are invited to donate things for the infants in the women’s prisons of Eleonas Thiva.

One more celebration was organized by the Embassy of India on Sunday, June 24, 8 a.m. in the Eleftherias Park of Athens.
June 21 was declared as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014 and it was celebrated all over the world. In Greece the celebration of the 1st International Day of Yoga took place on June 21, 2015 in Nea Smyrni Park and since then it is celebrated with parallel events in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras,Heraklion, and other cities.
