ELINEPA Senior Advisor Meets with Indian Ambassador to Strengthen Greek-Indian Cultural Ties
H.E. Mr. Georgios Olympios, Knight Commander and Senior Advisor of ELINEPA, met on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with H.E. Shri Ravi Shankar, Ambassador of India to Greece, at the premises of the Embassy of India in Athens.
The meeting provided an opportunity for a constructive exchange of views on the steadily strengthening strategic partnership between India and Greece. Discussions encompassed a broad range of bilateral, regional, and international issues, with particular emphasis on enhancing cultural cooperation and further promoting the longstanding cultural ties and historical connections between the two countries.
During the meeting, Mr. Olympios also conveyed the longstanding aspiration of his close friend, Indian businessman Mr. Prakash Hinduja, to support the development of a Greek-Indian film co-production focusing on the historic encounter between Alexander the Great and King Porus. The Ambassador welcomed the proposal and expressed his readiness to extend his support and assistance, within his capacity, towards advancing this cultural initiative.
“The most famous Greek to come to India was of course Alexander the Great. He arrived at the head of an invading army in 326 BC – but he left as a friend. Every Indian schoolchild knows of how Alexander and Porus fought a pitched battle and then became allies.”
