Colors of India at the 52nd Olympus Festival

The cultural events of the 52nd Olympus Festival begin on July 5 with a rich program that will last until September 4, 2023.

As the President of the Olympus Festival organization Mr. Grigoris Papachristos states, “A new journey in the world of art and culture is just beginning” and he invites us to travel along in what is predicted to be an exciting journey.

The presentation of Indian culture at the 52nd Olympus Festival takes place through the following two events, organized in collaboration with the Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture and Development (ELINEPA)

Friday, July 14, 2023, at 9:30 p.m
Roman Conservatory – Archaeological Park of Dion

Speech with slide show by President of ELINEPA Dr. Dimitrios Vassiliadis on the topic “Greece and India – 2500 years of Cultural Relations”.

Followed by a ‘Musical Journey in India, a tour of India through the genres of Indian vocal music – bhajan, ghazal, qawwali and kriti, performed by Konstantinos Kalaitzis, song, guitar and ghatam (Indian pitcher). Accompanied by Zulfiqar Ali Dar, tabla.

Screening of the award-winning Bollywood film Black (2005)

a social drama about people with special needs and Alzheimer.
Starring: Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji.

Admission to both events is free.
