Visit of the Greek team at the Kanya Gurukul Campus in Dehradun
On the occasion of ELINEPA’s cultural tour in Uttarakhand, the President of ELINEPA Dr Dimitrios Vassiliadis gave two lectures on “Cultural Links between Ancient India & Greece” in Dehradun on August 31, 2018.
Prof. Renu Shukla welcomes the Greek guests at the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Art, GKU
The first lecture was organized by Prof. Renu Shukla at the department of AIHCA, Kanya Gurukul Campus (Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya). The presentation was followed by a discussion between the Greek team that visited the Campus and the teachers and students of the University. Prof. Renu Shukla thanked Prof. Vassiliadis for his visit and presented him her latest book “Milinda Panha” (Questions of King Milinda).

The other lecture was organized by the Shape Himalaya Foundation at the Tarab Ling Research Institute. Dr Dimitrios Vassiliades’ speech was followed by a speech on “Greek and Indian Mythology” by Mr. Ashok Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) – Uttarakhand, who had visited Greece on several occasions in the past and has developed a keen interest in Greek Mythology, History and Culture. The lectures were followed by a lively discussion in which several eminent scholars on Buddhism took part.
