Special event on Mahatma Gandhi
On the occasion of the 147th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi
and the International Day of Non-Violence
The Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture and Development (ELINEPA)
and the “Technosfera” Association of Greek Visual Artists & Cultural Creators
organized a Special event – presentation on the theme:
The Values of Mahatma Gandhi in the 21st Century

The event was organized under the aegis of the Municipality of Palaio Faliro
with the support of the Embassy of India in Athens

- Introduction by the President of the “Technosfera” Association of Greek Visual Artists & Cultural Creators Ms. Vassiliki Tampouri
- Welcome address by Mr. Dionysis Chatzidakis, Mayor of Palaio Faliro
- Speech by H.E. Ms. Murugesan Manimekalai, Ambassador of India in Greece
- Speech by Mr. Anthony Papadopoulos, Gen. Secretary of ELINEPA and Attorney at the Supreme Court, on the theme, “The Fundamental Principles of Mahatma Gandhi”
- Speech by Ms. Mary Devoli, Member of ELINEPA and Teacher of Yoga on the theme, “Non-violence in our Daily Life”
- Speech by Dr Dimitrios Vassiliadis, Indologist Professor and author of the book The Values of Mahatma Gandhi through his Writings on the theme “Mahatma Gandhi an Ecumenical Personality”
- Gandhi’s favorite songs by Kostas Kalaitzis
- Documentary “Does Gandhi Matter?” (32 min. in English with Greek Subtitles)
