Special event on Mahatma Gandhi

On the occasion of the 147th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

and the International Day of Non-Violence


The Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture and Development (ELINEPA)

and the “Technosfera” Association of Greek Visual Artists & Cultural Creators

organized a Special event – presentation on the theme:

The Values of Mahatma Gandhi in the 21st Century

  • Introduction by the President of the “Technosfera” Association of Greek Visual Artists & Cultural Creators Ms. Vassiliki Tampouri
  • Welcome address by Mr. Dionysis Chatzidakis, Mayor of Palaio Faliro
  • Speech by H.E. Ms. Murugesan Manimekalai, Ambassador of India in Greece
  • Speech by Mr. Anthony Papadopoulos, Gen. Secretary of ELINEPA and Attorney at the Supreme Court, on the theme, “The Fundamental Principles of Mahatma Gandhi”
  • Speech by Ms. Mary Devoli, Member of ELINEPA and Teacher of Yoga on the theme, “Non-violence in our Daily Life”
  • Speech by  Dr Dimitrios Vassiliadis, Indologist Professor and author of the book The Values of Mahatma Gandhi through his Writings  on the theme “Mahatma Gandhi an Ecumenical Personality”
  • Gandhi’s favorite songs by Kostas Kalaitzis
  • Documentary “Does Gandhi Matter?” (32 min. in English with Greek Subtitles)
