Bollywood moves to Greece

The Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture and Development (ELINEPA) has invited Indian film producer Ravinder Dariya from New Delhi to promote Greece as an ideal destination for the production of Indian films. During his visit, Mr. Ravinder Dariya gave a speech to the students of Hindi at the School of Foreign Languages, University of Athens (5 Stadiou str., 3rd floor, hall 314) on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 20:00.

Ravinder Dariya studied communication at the University of Delhi and for a few years now lives in Mumbai where he is involved in the film production industry. In 2015 he attempted to make his first film in Mykonos and Nea Makri and has since become a fan of our country claiming that Greece is an ideal place for the production of Indian films, combining the unique natural beauty with a rich ancient and modern culture. In addition, the production cost is low compared to other Western countries and the security of the country makes it a unique destination for safe film productions in Eastern Mediterranean.

In its effort to promote Greece as an ideal destination for Indian film productions ELINEPA has already developed contacts with various municipalities throughout Greece, film production companies in Greece and India, Indian dance schools in Athens and province, travel agencies, airlines and other companies. We hope that this effort will soon bear fruits, contributing in this way to the increase of the incoming tourism from India that is constantly rising in recent years.
