The Sikh community in Greece, now counting more than 13,000 members, celebrated with special zeal and religious devotion “Vaishaki”, one of their largest religious festivals, on Saturday, April 7, 2018, in the Taurus area in Athens.
The celebration is organized every year by the Sikh Cultural Club “Shri Guru Nanak Darbar” in Taurus. Hundreds of members of the community made the parade of the sacred book of Sikhs, known as Guru Granth Sahib, by reading and reciting hymns (kirtan) from it.
The festival completed with a cultural program and a vegetarian feast, offered free to all attendees.
