The Damaru Kirtan ensemble, which was founded in 2015 by Stergios Katsiolas (Satyaprem) and Xenia Vatti (Shambhuroopa) in Thessaloniki, will perform in the 5th Multilingual Celebration that will be held from 26th to 28th of May in the New Town Hall of Thessaloniki.
Damaru invite all Kirtan and Sanskrit friends to come to listen to them but also to participate in their event, which will take place on Saturday, May 27 at 18:00. They argue that Kirtan singing is for all people. “There are no masters of kirtan, no experts, no teachers, no advanced students, no beginners. The practice itself is the teacher, guiding us to ourselves.”
The Multilingual Festival is organized by the Direction of Education and Sport of the Municipality of Thessaloniki via the Department of Programs and Lifelong Learning, the Municipal Society of Information, Spectrum and Communication (D.E.P.TH.E.)
