ELINEPA extends its congratulations to Prof. Bharat Gupt for receiving the Sangeet Natak Academy Award from the President of India

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu presented the Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Fellowships (Akademi Ratna) and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards (Akademi Puruskar) for the year 2019, 2020 and 2021 at a special function in New Delhi on February 23, 2023.

On the occasion, eight eminent personalities were given Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships in the field of performing arts. Among them was Indo-Hellenic Friendship League President Prof. Bharat Gupt, who was honored for his contribution to musicology.

While presenting the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships and Akademi Awards, President Murmu said that just as nature’s gifts like air and water do not recognize human limitations, the art forms are also above language and geographical boundaries. She also said that  India’s unique performing arts have kept the country’s incredible culture alive for centuries.

The Hellenic Indian Society for Culture and Development (ELINEPA) extends its congratulations to Prof. Bharat Gupt for receiving this highest honor of the government of India.
