Online Lecture on Greek literature at Vellore Institute of Technology
During the One day Webinar on Gender Studies, organized by the Language Department of the Vellore Institute of Technology, Dr. Francesca Zaccone will speak about the novel “The Book of Katerina” by Augustos Kortos, a contemporary Greek writer and translator from Thessaloniki. Francesca Zaccone will analyze the book in comparison with “The Third Wreath” by Kostas Tachtsis from the perspective of Fabio Cleto’s theories about the camp discourse, through the theoretical framework of queer studies.

Dr. Francesca Zaccone is an Italian postdoctoral researcher for the Chair of Modern Greek Studies at the University of Sapienza in Rome. She studied Modern Greek Literature and Translation at the Sapienza University of Rome, where she completed her PhD. At the same time she works as a translator and recently published in Italian “The Synaxari of Andreas Kordopatis” by Thanassis Valtinos. In 2017 he taught at the Cavafy International Summer School of the Onassis Foundation.
