Greeks and Buddhism

A THREE DAYS SEMINAR ON “GREEKS AND BUDDHISM”

The Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture & Development and the Aetopouleio Cultural Center of Chalandri Municipality organized a three days seminar on the theme “Greeks and Buddhism”. The program of the lectures was the following: 

 

Day 1, Thursday 1 March, time 19.00:

Lecture 1: “Buddhism in India and the World” speaker: H.E. the Ambassador of India, Mr. Tsewang Topden.

Lecture 2: “The Greek Buddha” speaker: Dr. Nikos Demou, writter.

 

Day 2, Thursday 8 March, time 19.00:

Lecture 3: “The Art of Gandhara” speaker: Dr. Potitsa Grigoratou.

Lecture 4: “Monachisism in the Orthodox and Buddhist Traditions ” speaker: Prof. Stylianos Papalexandropoulos.

 

Day 3, Thursday 15 March, time 19.00:

Lecture 5: “In the Steps of Buddha” speaker: Dr. Marianna Benetatou.

Lecture 6: “Greeks and Buddhism – the Meeting of two Worlds” speaker: Dr. Dimitrios Vassiliadis.
