Inauguration of the new Consulate office of India in Thessaloniki

The Ambassador of India to Greece Mr. Amrit Lugun inaugurated the new Honorary Consulate office of India in the port city of Thessaloniki, the 2nd largest city in Greece.

Honorary Consul of India in Thessaloniki was appointed Mr. Giannis Bellas, a prominent businessman, covering a position that remained vacant in recent years after the retirement of Mrs. Yvonne Alexandridou, who served for a number of years as Honorary Consul of India, contributing significantly with her work in the development of Greek-Indian cultural and economic relations in Northern Greece.

At the reception hosted on this occasion in Makedonia Palas were present the Deputy Minister of Macedonia and Thrace Mr. Stavros Kalafatis, the Deputy Regional Governor of Central Macedonia Mrs. Voula Patoulidou, and other dignitaries.
