Invitation to Greek Artists/Sculptors to visit India
The Udaipur International Centre for the Visual Arts, Rajasthan-India, is inviting Artists/Sculptors from Greece to stay at the center’s premises and create works of art in Stone with the collaboration of local craftsmen.
The Udaipur International Center for Visual Arts is part of the Ganeriwala Foundation, a non-profit organization and member of the Greek-Indian Business Association (GIBA) that encourages, promotes and supports innovative work in the field of Marble sculpture and fusion of local art such as with semi-precious stones, glass and inlays embedded in marble.
OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT
The Centre will host up to 4 Greek Sculptors to enable them to show their talent in Marble/Stone by creating Art pieces on the Marble Blocks provided to them. The Sculptors will get a chance to work and exchange views with local artists, organize workshops with Sculpting Schools, Visit the City Palace Museum and Sculpture division to get a first-hand feel of ancient sculptures of India, etc.
The Centre will provide the following at its own cost: Accommodation, Meals (Veg.), Workshop, Tools, Local Sculptors, and Allied Workforce. The Cost of the Marble / Stone Block will be borne by the Centre – 1 Marble Block per Sculptor up to the sizes of 2′-6″ (CUBE)
DURATION
The Artist / Sculptor can stay at the Residency for up to 3 Weeks for a particular project which can be extended on a need basis.
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ARTISTS AT ONE TIME
The residency has 2 fully furnished rooms that can host up to 4 guests at a time, who are willing to share the Kind Bed.
It will be our pleasure to regularly host a new set of sculptors based on the above-mentioned details.
