DEMETRIOS GALANOS: ITIHASA-SAMUCCAYA
by Demetrios Galanos (1760-1833)
The book, as its title suggests, is a collection of stories (Itihāsa Samuccaya) from Mahābhārata one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India which is attributed to Vyāsa. In the manuscript there is a note informing us that Galano had completed this translation in 1824. (Pages xxxvi + 285).
The fifth publication in a series of Gananos’ manuscripts (Ms. No. 13). It was published in Athens in 1851 under the custody of the Commissioner of the Public and University Library George N. Tipaldos and the librarian Georgios Apostolidis.
