Photo exhibition: “New Homelands: The Indian Diaspora in the European Union” at Varanasi
A photo exhibition entitled “New Homelands: The Indian Diaspora in the European Union” is organized by the Delegation of the European Union to India during the celebration of the 15th Indian Diaspora Day (Pravasi Bhartiya Divas), taking place from 21 – 23 January 2019 in Varanasi, where the theme is the celebration of the Indian diaspora.
The exhibition focuses on Indians settled in Europe, as well as their unique contribution to the social, economic and cultural fabric of Europe.
The photographs are the result of a unique project undertaken by the EU Delegation to India that witnessed three Indian photographers, Paroma Mukherjee, Shome Basu, and Kounteya Sinha travel across 21 EU Member States, to catch snapshots of Indian communities thriving there.
