The exhibition is held as part of the anniversary events to celebrate 120 years of diplomatic relations between Greece and Japan. It is co-organized by the Byzantine & Christian Museum of Athens, the Embassy of Japan in Greece, and the Japan Camera Industry Institute, Media Art (JCII).

The exhibition hosts 46 photographs of the National Treasures of the Tōdai-ji Temple as well as the Kasuga-taisha Shrine (Nara, Japan). The Greco-Buddhist art of Gandara and the spirit of Hellenism spread to Japan through Central Asia and the silk road and reflected in the Buddhist statues as symbols of the Japanese culture, are depicted in the photographic works from different angles and offer a unique spectacle.

Do not miss the opportunity to experience this journey of the Apollonian light handed down by Greece to the Indian subcontinent, where it gave the first form of the statues of Buddha (Appolo) and Vajrapani (Hercules), to finally reach Japan via China and Korea in the distant past.
