In the context of the online events Speak Dates 2021 organized by the Foreign Language Teaching Center of EKPA, the professor of Indian languages Dimitriοs Vassiliadis will present the evolution of the Hindi language and script over the course of time from the kharosthi and the Hindustani to modern Hindi.

The differences we encounter in Kabir’s language and style will be pointed out through representative couplets (doha-s) and a poem.

Kabir was a leading Hindustani poet of the 15th century and his poems continue to be extremely popular in India today. Many of them have been translated into Greek and other languages and are often sung in Indian films.
