Celebration of the International Day of Yoga 2019 in Greece and Cyprus
On the occasion of the celebration of the 5th International Day of Yoga, the Hellenic Yoga Association, the LIght of Yoga and the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Nea Smyrni are organizing with the support of the Embassy of India an open yoga seminar on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the Nea Smyrni Park.
The program includes free workshops/courses from all yoga systems, talks, and entertainment with dance and music. The program starts at 12.00 noon and has as follows:
12.00-19.00: Workshops and Courses
19.00-21.00: Cultural Program (Short welcome address by Mrs. Eleni Kossifidou, Vice-President of Yoga Association of Greece, Speech by H.E. Ms. Shamma Jain, Ambassador of India to Greece, Indian Classical Dance performance by Mrs. Radhika Jha, Indian traditional music, Indian snacks)
The registration of yoga teachers and schools and the participation of the public in all the events of the International Yoga Day is free of charge
The aim of this action is to get the general public to know the benefits and principles of Yoga.
Yoga is an ancient philosophical and practical method that developed in India and evolved into a global system for the progressive development of the individual’s consciousness, with the ultimate goal of harmonizing human existence at the spiritual, mental, and physical levels.
