Two Greek Indologists among the 60 EU-India legends

Padma Shri Nikolas Kazanas, Indology professor and founder of the “Omilos Meleton” Cultural Institute and Ms. Leda Sandala, Indian classical dance teacher and founder of the “Shantom” House of Culture are among the 60 distinguished personalities included in the “EUIndia 60 Legends” coffee table book published by the Europe India Center for Business and Industry (EICBI) to commemorate the 60 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and the European Union (EU) in the year 2022.

The honorary distinction for Leda Sandala and Nikolas Kazanas is a reward for their work and their contribution to strengthening the relations between Greece and India over the last 60 years. The photo of Leda Sandala graces the cover of the book and a summary of her work is published on page 35. The publication about Nikolaos Kazanas is on page 48.

The list of 60 legends selected under the #EUIndia60 campaign includes Indian and European Prime Ministers, diplomats, scientists, and men and women of arts and letters who have played a key role in strengthening the relations between the European Union and India over the last 60 years.

The EUIndia 60 Legends book was launched at the European Parliament in Brussels on 28 June 2022 by Mr. Soren Gade, Member of EU Parliament from Denmark and Chairman of the EU Delegation for Relations with India.
