Celebration of the International Day of Yoga 2021 in Greece

On the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Yoga, the Hellenic Yoga Association organizes a special event entitled “The contribution of Yoga to the coronavirus era”.
Due to the special circumstances, this important day for the yoga practitioners will only take place online on Sunday, June 20, 2021, from 10:00 to 20:30.
The aim of this action is to get the general public to know the benefits and principles of Yoga. All participants are also given the opportunity to meet teachers and scientists who will share their knowledge and love for Yoga, learn from them and practice all together.
The program includes lessons, meditations and speeches of different Yoga systems that will take place through the ZOOM platform.
The participation for all the courses is 10 euros (VAT included). You will have the opportunity to attend as many lessons and lectures as you wish!

To mark the 7th International Day of Yoga, the Embassy of India in Greece is organizing a week-long celebration from 19-26th June 2021, with the inaugural function on Saturday, 19 June 2021 from 1500-1700 hrs. at the Zappeion Megaron (front exterior), Athens with local experts conducting sessions on yoga.
All local Covid-19 protocols will be followed during the function on 19 June 2021 at Zappeion Megaron, including mandatory wearing of masks.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA
June 21 was declared as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014. General Assembly Vice-President Álvaro Mendonca E Moura (Portugal) delivering a statement on behalf of General Assembly President Sam Kutesa (Uganda), in which he noted the overwhelming support that the resolution on yoga had received, with more than 170 co-sponsors, congratulated the Honourable Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, for this initiative. (Read the statement HERE). The celebration of the International Day of Yoga was held for the first time on June 21, 2015 in more than 150 countries.
