The people of India with their intense spirituality have developed through the centuries a number of festivals that aim to stimulate the spiritual and moral values which highlight the ancient Indian scriptures, as well as the people’s relationships with the family and their environment. The holidays are spread in all seasons and add a touch of joy in the everyday life of Indians. Some are celebrated only by certain religious or local communities, while others are generally accepted and celebrated by all.
